Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14/07/2026
FinanceKeys.co.uk and the FinanceKeys Chrome extension are owned and operated by EVOLV Consultants Limited.
EVOLV Consultants Limited is the data controller of your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal data when you use the FinanceKeys website, sign up for beta access, contact us for support, or use the FinanceKeys Chrome extension.
We take care of your personal data and undertake to protect its confidentiality and security.
1. What FinanceKeys does
FinanceKeys is a Chrome extension designed to improve productivity in Google Sheets for finance, FP&A, accounting and modelling users.
FinanceKeys adds visual sheet-tab enhancements and keyboard shortcut actions for common formatting tasks. Current features include full-colour sheet tabs, selected-tab highlighting and Excel-style formatting shortcuts.
2. Where the Chrome extension runs
FinanceKeys runs only on Google Sheets pages at:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets
FinanceKeys does not run across all websites and does not request access to websites unrelated to its core Google Sheets functionality.
3. Spreadsheet data
FinanceKeys does not collect, store, sell, share or transmit spreadsheet contents.
This includes cell values, formulas, sheet names, file names, financial model data, comments, notes and other spreadsheet content.
FinanceKeys interacts with the visible Google Sheets page in your browser only to apply local visual styling and user-triggered formatting actions.
4. Local visual changes and keyboard shortcuts
FinanceKeys may read elements of the visible Google Sheets interface in your browser, such as visible sheet tabs, tab colours and selected-tab state.
This is required to provide features such as full-colour sheet tabs and selected-tab highlighting.
These visual changes are applied locally in your browser. They do not change the underlying Google Sheets file, except where you explicitly trigger a Google Sheets formatting action, such as applying cell borders.
FinanceKeys listens for specific FinanceKeys keyboard shortcut sequences while you are using Google Sheets. These shortcuts are used to trigger formatting actions chosen by you. FinanceKeys does not use keyboard shortcut handling to collect, store or transmit typed spreadsheet contents.
5. Personal information we collect
When you visit FinanceKeys.co.uk, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and website usage. This may include information such as your web browser, IP address, time zone, cookies, pages viewed, referring websites or search terms, and how you interact with the website. We refer to this as Device Information.

6. Why we process your data

Information collected automatically from the website is used to help maintain the website, identify potential abuse, and understand general website usage. Statistical information is not intended to identify any particular user where this is not necessary.
You can visit the website without telling us who you are or revealing information that directly identifies you. However, if you wish to receive beta access, join our mailing list, receive updates or contact us through the website, you may need to provide personal data such as your name and email address. If you choose not to provide certain information, you may not be able to use some website features or receive beta access.

These settings are stored locally using Chrome extension storage and are not transmitted to FinanceKeys.

16. Information security
We take reasonable administrative, technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure or deletion.
FinanceKeys is designed to minimise data collection. The Chrome extension is intended to run locally in the browser and does not intentionally transmit spreadsheet contents to FinanceKeys.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or wireless network can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
17. Legal disclosure
